the sterling trio

Saturday 22nd February 7.30pm, Theatr Mwldan

Sarah Atter (flute)
Thomas Verity (clarinet)
Lauren Hibberd (piano)

The Sterling Trio was formed at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2006 and has since established itself as an exciting, innovative and engaging chamber ensemble. Selected artists for the 2013-14 Making Music Concert Promoters' Group Brochure, the Trio pride themselves on a creative and versatile approach to music-making, striving for the highest standard of performance both as musicians and communicators.

Their unique combination of instruments - complemented by bass clarinet, piccolo and alto flute - boasts an extensive and eclectic repertoire encompassing music from the Renaissance to the present day: rich 19th century opera-infused virtuosic works, impressionistic 20th century French music and arrangements, many by the Trio, of works by prominent composers such as Dowland, Corelli, Mendelssohn and Bartok. Tonight's programme will include works by J.S. Bach, Arnold and Fauré.

“One of the most relaxed, nicely introduced and skilfully played performances...”     SASRA Music and Arts, Egremont, November 2011
