A programme of Christmas music

The enterprising early music group Galliarda are accomplished performers who have a wide experience of international performance, recording, teaching and research. Their programme presents an intriguing panorama of both traditional and cultured music from the late 15th century up to 1800. This is a celebratory Christmas programme that takes its title from a Catalan Christmas carol. Traditional carols from different regions of Spain are strongly featured in the first part of the programme, together with folk dances and Christmas songs from France, Germany and England. The second part of the concert moves into the baroque era with festive works chosen from composers such as Handel, Telemann, Purcell, Arne and Rosenmüller.

This performance promises to be a festive and warming concert sure to brighten any Winter gloom!
